Meet Soweto’s Top 20: The Young Women Chasing the White Star Miss Soweto Crown

Twenty young women from Soweto have taken a big step towards the crown. The White Star Miss Soweto 2026 Top 20 finalists were introduced at Falcon Arrow Spur Southgate on Thursday, 15 October, and each one had the chance to share what this journey means to her.

Each of the finalists brings her own story, hopes and dreams to the stage. Over the coming weeks they will take part in activities and experiences aimed at building their confidence, finding their voices and getting them ready for what the title demands.

For White Star, Miss Soweto is about growth as much as glamour. “Every finalist has a story that has brought her to this point, and we look forward to seeing those stories unfold,” says Jonita Cuff, Marketing Manager for White Star. “Miss Soweto is about more than the crown; it is about creating opportunities for young women to grow, find their voices and recognise their potential.”

Between now and the grand pageant on 28 November 2026, the Top 20 will attend workshops on personal empowerment, community impact and life skills. The goal is for them to become positive role models and agents of change at home, in the tradition of past Miss Soweto winners who have gone on to lead and build businesses.

White Star supports the competition through its partnership with Miss Soweto. To find out more about the 2026 pageant, visit www.whitestar.africa.
