A celebration of colour, fashion and culture brought Gordon’s and Pantone Sundays together for one vibrant Sunday in Johannesburg.
If you missed the tangerine takeover at Pantone Sundays last month, you definitely missed one of Johannesburg’s most vibrant style moments.
On the last Sunday of July, The Playground was transformed into a vivid tangerine playground as Pantone Sundays teamed up with Gordon’s for its “Tangerine Fits” edition. With just about 1,000 guests, the event brought together fashion, music, lifestyle and culture, with guests embracing the theme from head to toe.
At Pantone Sundays, colour is more than a dress code. Each edition is centred around a carefully selected shade inspired by fashion, design and the way the community is expressing itself. For the July edition, tangerine became the defining colour of the day, from the outfits and photographs to the overall atmosphere.

Gordon’s joined the experience with its “The ultimate accessory for your Tangerine fit” campaign, positioning its ready-to-drink serves as the finishing touch to the day’s looks.
Guests stepped into an immersive tangerine world at The Playground, with fit checks, fashion moments and golden-hour photography creating plenty of opportunities to capture the day. Gordon’s serves were integrated into the experience, complementing the bold colour palette while becoming part of the visual story.
Speaking about the partnership, Ifeoma Agu, Head of Culture, Influencer & Advocacy at Diageo South, West & Central Africa, said the collaboration was an opportunity for Gordon’s to participate meaningfully in culture rather than simply appear within it.
And that approach was certainly reflected in the activation. Rather than feeling like a traditional brand presence, Gordon’s became part of the fashion and lifestyle experience, from the styling of its serves to the way they appeared across photographs and social moments throughout the day.
As the afternoon moved into sunset, the tangerine theme continued to dominate The Playground, with guests bringing their own interpretation of the colour to life.
The result? A Sunday where fashion met flavour, colour met culture, and the crowd became part of the canvas.
Pantone Sundays continues to prove that when a community embraces a colour, it can become much more than something you see, it becomes something you wear, experience and remember.
