Relebogile Mabotja has another reason to celebrate. Untied, the Showmax Original she hosts and associate produces, has been recognised by the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs), a moment that speaks to the show’s growing impact on conversations about women, relationships and life after divorce.
Untied
Untied brings together some of South Africa’s most recognisable women to talk openly about heartbreak, survival and starting over. Moving past public perception, the series makes room for the stories that often go unspoken, telling them with sensitivity and keeping the focus on the women behind the headlines.
As host and associate producer, Relebogile draws on her background as a multi-award-winning broadcaster and producer. Her influence goes beyond the screen, helping to shape a production that honours the dignity and complexity of every woman who shares her story.
Gratitude
Reflecting on the recognition, she was quick to thank those who made the show possible. “I’m grateful to the production team at GOAT and to Showmax and MultiChoice for trusting me to be part of bringing this show to life.
I’m equally grateful to the phenomenal women who came forward to share their stories and some of the most vulnerable parts of themselves with us. Their honesty is at the heart of what makes Untied so meaningful, and this recognition is deeply appreciated.”
Produced by GOAT, the team behind some of Showmax’s most-watched titles, Untied has set itself apart by tackling difficult territory: divorce, family conflict, emotional recovery and the work of rebuilding a life.
